Posting Month
Starting since last year, I’ve only made an Instagram post once every “even” month, with a special exception for my birthday.
I would say bimonthly instead of even months, but I made a post in December 2021 and then lost myself in studying for APs and didn’t post on February, so to keep the “other month” schedule I had going I made a post in April. It’s all calculated, really.
I also completely avoid stories (though I wanna make a small private one to show stuff I make to my compsci friends, maybe post updates on things.) Through this system, I have the ability to shut off the knowledge of my social existence entirely. I don’t really know if that’s a good or bad thing, but it helps with productivity. I focus more on what I do instead of talking about it, and since most of my friends use Instagram, it’s like I send out an “I’m still alive!” ping every other month.
And, when Posting Months do come, I’ve usually amassed a really powerful set of photos by then, so the posts mean more. And if I don’t, that just motivates me to do cool things and get notable photos. I really like my post history, and want everything I put into that one post to matter, since there’s a limit of 10 photos.
This month’s a Posting Month, and I’m having trouble picking what to put in the post since everything over the past two months feels so relevant. The selections will be difficult.
